About Us

MEOC (Metro East Organizing Coalition) is a grassroots, faith-based organization dedicated to fostering both personal and collective growth throughout the Metro East Illinois area and  St. Louis, MO.

Our mission is to reduce violence and systemic harm by mobilizing communities and applying public health-based strategies to build power and advance justice.

MEOC is committed to implementing evidence-based strategies informed by public health principles—including group violence intervention, hospital-linked violence prevention, and community-based support. We are fostering relationships that collectively create an ecosystem that meet the needs of the families we serve. Through these efforts, we are developing a Community Help Center that will serve as a trusted, welcoming space where residents can connect with resources, relationships, and hope.

We believe that the social bonds formed within our help center strengthens entire neighborhoods—cultivating safety, inclusion, and civic pride. By promoting volunteerism, engagement, and after-school programming, we strive to create environments where youth are empowered, communities are connected, and futures are transformed.
